A movement exploration
unstructured
What began as a prompt-based freestyle class for pole dancers seeking to embody their art evolved into a body-mind movement exploration journey - not only for artistic expression and development, but a path to discovering our voices, truths, desires, and a way to heal. Unstructured is movement practice that recognizes the vastness of our inner knowledge often ignored in a society that doesn’t want us to pause or listen. In Unstructured, we are reminded of our body's ability to communicate wisdom beyond words.
What is Unstructured?
-
Prompt-based
A movement exploration based on prompts, allowing participants to freely interpret prompts to internalize and externalize knowledge of body.
-
Practice
The experience of the movement exploration allows us to reflect and translate our inner and outer worlds.
-
Method
A movement method that harnesses the power of prompt progression to help simplify the complexity of our body.

Unstructured Mentorship program
Program start Fall 2024: Application deadline September 20, 2024
This small group mentorship program is a hands-on 10-week program that includes 3 private sessions (20 hours total) that meets once a week and optional home work assignments. It’s a program for movement instructors, teachers, and facilitators who wish to include prompt-based movement exploration into their own work.
The Unstructured Mentorship program accepts up to 5 participants at a time to ensure maximum personal guidance during in-class practice and private sessions. This allows participants to learn how to safely and effectively guide movement exploration. Participants are required to attend at least 95% of the group sessions, as the program relies heavily on group feedback and discussions. Each week includes a short lecture on a specific topic, followed by hands-on facilitation practice with the group.
Program Objective
The Unstructured method is a skill-focused mentorship program designed to be adaptable to various movement modalities practiced by participants. The goal of this program is to provide tools and practice skills that will allow participants to build confidence by experience in facilitating prompt-based movement exploration in a way that’s safe and authentic.
Note: This program does not certify participants to teach or facilitate Unstructured classes, workshops, or programs, nor does it provide a one-size-fits-all instruction on how to teach.
